Fire!

I was at work yesterday and Cory sent me a text that said "the pampas grass is ablaze"  

I said "SAY WHAT?!"  

He said he was outside walking Sam, minding his own business, when all of a sudden one of the pampas grass went up into flames.  Another guy was outside and called the fire department. 

There is pampas grass all around the mailboxes at our apartment complex and our building is relatively close to the mailboxes.  Cory sent me a picture and said the firemen were there putting it out.

Friday we got flood-inducing amounts of rain so I didn't think something like a cigarette would have started the fire.  Cory said he saw some teenage kids walking away from that area right before it went up in flames and he is pretty sure they set it on fire. 

The firemen got it all put out before anyone or anything was hurt.  Our mailbox area now looks like this:

Our building is the one in the background.  We live on the opposite of the building, but had it caught fire, we might have suffered some damage.  Thank goodness we have renter's insurance!
